Freedom From Sin
Early in my Christian walk, I thought freedom from sin meant that I would be free from the temptation to sin. Given that misunderstanding coupled with the other false belief, that I was just a sinner saved by grace, I could not walk in freedom from sin. It was very frustrating, and many Christians are still suffering because of that same misunderstanding. Freedom from sin is not freedom from temptation. It is freedom from the bondage that once made it impossible to resist temptation. If you are a born-again believer in Christ, you are a child of God. As His child, you are free to resist temptation by surrendering to Christ when you are tempted. Surrendering to Christ is not the same as fighting temptation. It is just the opposite. It is choosing to turn away from the mental and visual stimuli that tempt you and look to Christ instead. We accomplish this by practicing various spiritual disciplines, such as reciting the Jesus Prayer, praise and worship, reading the Psalms, and other methods to keep our minds focused on Christ when we are tempted.
If you have not walked in freedom from sin through surrender to Christ, please contact us. That is the purpose of this ministry: to help you discover freedom through surrender to Jesus Christ. We look forward to encouraging you with tools and resources that can empower you to experience the fullness of salvation. Live by faith. Walk in freedom. Abide in Christ.
