John Chapter 1

Every person who embraces faith in Jesus Christ is welcomed as a cherished child of God! Through our belief, we receive the radiant light that leads us away from despair and into hope. That light, embodied by Jesus Christ, shines forth God's incredible compassion, kindness, and mercy. What a tremendous blessing it is to be recognized as one of God's beloved children simply by trusting in His promises! Thanks to God's grace, we experience salvation through our faith! His love for us is profound, and when we truly encounter that love, it ignites a powerful belief that liberates us from hopelessness.

As we explore the stories of belief found in the opening chapter of John, we see wonderful encouragement for our own journeys. The first individuals to discover their saving faith in Jesus exemplified how to respond when called. Their faith inspired them to leave behind their former lives and follow Him wholeheartedly. They were not yet the mighty Apostles we honor today; they were just ordinary people, much like you and me. What distinguished them was their readiness to let go of the past and embrace the path that Jesus offered.

This is truly inspiring! We don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly where we're headed. All God asks of us is to take that next step in faith. What could the next step be for you? Perhaps it's finding a welcoming, Bible-believing church where you can grow as a disciple of Christ. Maybe it means setting your alarm just 15 minutes earlier to spend some quiet time reading your Bible before the day unfolds. If you're further along in your journey, the next step might require some bold actions to eliminate distractions or challenges in your life.

Whatever your next step requires, you can move forward with the confidence that God has already mapped out the journey. All He desires is a heart eager to follow Him. Just as those early followers in John's Gospel ran to Jesus with open arms, let us embrace that same fearless faith and follow the Good Shepherd who invites us into a life filled with freedom and joy.
