Redemption
Before being born again, our heart and spirit were naturally inclined to disobey God. By nature, we rebelled against Him. With our new heart and spirit, we are made right with Him and eager to build a relationship built on trust and obedience. We can do just that because every born-again child of God has been set free from the bondage of sin and selfishness. That is the meaning of redemption. You were redeemed from the curse of living in rebellion against God. We are no longer slaves to our sinful desires. We are free to choose obedience to Him, which leads to thoughts, words, and actions that bring stability and sanity into our lives. We are no longer under the curse of rebellion but free to follow Christ down the narrow road of discipleship. We will continue to struggle and be tempted to return to our old ways, but rest assured, we are free! Learning how to walk in that freedom by depending on Jesus Christ to resist temptation is the process of sanctification. To learn more, click the link below.
