Redemption
Before we were born again, we had hearts and spirits that could not help but disobey God. By nature, we rebelled against Him. With our new heart and spirit, we are made right with Him and eager to build a relationship built on trust and obedience. We can do just that because every born-again child of God has been set free from the bondage of sin and selfishness. That is the meaning of redemption. You were redeemed from the curse of living in rebellion against God. Now you are free to choose obedience to Him, which leads to thoughts, words, and actions that bring stability and sanity into your life. You are no longer under the curse of rebellion but free to follow Christ down the narrow road of discipleship. You will still struggle and be tempted to continue in your old ways, but rest assured, you are free! Learning how to walk in that freedom by depending on Jesus Christ to resist temptation is the process of sanctification. To learn more about that, click the button below.
