SCRIPTURE IS SUFFICIENT
Biblical counseling is not therapy with Scripture verses added. It is soul care built entirely on the conviction that the Bible is living, active, and wholly sufficient to address every matter of the human heart. If you are struggling, suffering, or stuck in patterns you cannot break, the answer is not found in a technique. It is found in God, and He has not left us without His Word.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
WHAT BIBLICAL COUNSELING IS, AND WHAT IT ISN'T
Christian therapy and biblical counseling are not the same thing. Christian therapy typically integrates psychological theory with Christian belief, treating Scripture as a spiritual supplement to clinical methods rooted in secular assumptions about human nature. Biblical counseling rejects that integration, not out of hostility, but out of conviction.
We believe, along with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and The Addiction Connection, that:
Scripture alone is sufficient to address the full range of human struggle, including addiction, anxiety, depression, relational conflict, grief, and life-dominating sin
The heart, not the brain, is the seat of human motivation and behavior, and God's Word speaks directly to the heart
Lasting change requires more than behavioral modification. It requires repentance, reconciliation to God, and transformation by the renewing of the mind
The goal of counseling is not symptom relief. It is Christlikeness, lived out for the glory of God
This does not mean we dismiss suffering or minimize pain. It means we take both seriously enough to point to the only answer that is actually sufficient.
A necessary distinction.
THE FOUNDATION
The sufficiency of Scripture is not a preference, it is a conviction grounded in what God Himself claims about His Word. Psalm 19 tells us that the law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul. Second Peter 1:3 tells us that God's divine power has granted us everything we need for life and godliness. We take those claims seriously, and we counsel accordingly.
We do not blend Scripture with Freud, Maslow, or the DSM. We hold to what ACBC describes as a nouthetic approach, speaking truth into lives with care, clarity, and the full weight of God's Word, addressing sin, building hope, and pointing always toward Christ.
Why Scripture? Because God says so.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Step 1: Reach Out
Contact us to schedule your first appointment. There is no cost for our services. We accept donations, but we will never let finances be a barrier to someone who needs biblical counsel.
Step 2: Complete the Personal Data Inventory
Before your first session, you will complete a Personal Data Inventory (PDI), a structured intake form that helps us understand your background, your struggles, your history, and where you are spiritually. This allows us to come prepared to serve you well from the very first conversation.
Step 3: Your First Session
The first session is about your story. We want to know who you are, what you are carrying, and what is hindering you from experiencing full reconciliation with God. We listen carefully before we counsel. Our goal is that you leave that first session with something you may not have walked in with: hope.
Step 4: Weekly Sessions
Sessions are one hour, held weekly. Counseling is in-person in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Each session will be followed by homework, which may include reading Scripture, written reflection, books relevant to the issues we are addressing, and other assignments designed to move you forward between sessions. Growth happens in the trenches, not in the counseling room.
Step 5: Ongoing Discipleship
Counseling and discipleship are not separate tracks here. As the immediate issues are addressed, we continue walking with you in the longer work of sanctification and theological grounding.
No mystery. No pressure. Just a process.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You are a Christian who keeps returning to the same sin patterns and wants more than willpower, you want real, lasting, gospel-driven change.
You are wrestling with addiction, life-dominating sin, or habits that are destroying your relationships and your walk with God.
You want a deeper, doctrinally grounded faith that goes beyond feelings and gives you something solid to stand on.
You are not yet a Christian, but you are asking honest questions and want honest, biblical answers.
You are a pastor or church leader looking for a biblical counseling resource for your congregation.
You are in the right place if...
FOR PASTORS AND CHURCH LEADERS
The biblical counseling needs of a growing congregation can exceed what any one pastor can carry alone. We exist, in part, to serve the local church by coming alongside pastors in the soul care of their people. We work with you, not around you. We believe deeply that no counseling relationship replaces the ongoing ministry of a faithful pastor, and we will always point the people we serve back to their local church.
If your congregation has needs that exceed your current capacity, we would welcome a conversation about partnership.
You cannot do it all. You were never meant to.
BOOK AN APPOINTMENT
If you are ready to go deeper, to move beyond surface-level Christianity into a faith that is historically grounded, doctrinally rich, and glorifying to God, we would be honored to walk with you.
The faith once delivered to the saints is worth knowing. Worth living. Worth defending.
